Saturday ING Belgium and Flair opened a pop-up store, The Orange Store, about the theme ‘saving money’. The timing is quite special, there sales in Belgium started also at the same day.
Although I never blog about work and workrelated stuff, I have to say that in this blogpost I’m breaking my rules: ING Belgium is my employer since April this year. But the concept fits every fashionista, so I had to share!
The savings-themed pop-up store opened saturday in the Wiegstraat 11 in Antwerp, and will stay open until Juli 31. In the shop you can find the Summer Collection that was selected by Flair magazine. All items are.. ORANGE! Orange is the color of ING and is as well a popular color this summer (think: neon, flashy, …). In the pop-up store you can’t buy anything. But as long as the sales period lasts, you can win your favorite orange item by participating to a game about savings.
The items are true fashionista musthaves! Think brands like H&M, Urban Outfitters, Mango, Habitat, Marc Jacobs (!), Micheal Kors, Biotherm, Alessi, Ice Watch, Chanel (!!!), Dior..
With this initiative ING Belgium wants to show everybody who visits the Orange Store the power of saving money. So then you can calculate for yourself how long you have to save for an orange Birkin for example (and yes, we want it all).
How to win your favorite orange item?
In the store there’s a fictional person Laura, who saves 200 euro every month. If you see something you like, then you can estimate how much the item costs and calculate how long Laura has to save for that particular item. That’s all!
If you don’t want to make the trip to Antwerp, you can also visit the shop online through the Facebook application of The Orange Store.
Thinking about the idea and looking at the pictures of the shop I think its a great and refreshing concept. Saving money and sales are not that much mentioned in one sentence..
(note: I’m in Barcelona at the moment and everywhere I look I see ‘rebaixes’ and ‘sale’. It’s really hard to resist, believe me!)
The items are really worth it to plan a visit to the shop. And we fashionista’s have the advantage that we know how much things cost, right?! So winning a Chanel or Dior item must me peanuts for us!
Let me know what you think about the concept?
xoxo
Grietje
